There are plenty of girlish brooches, but it is not always possible to make something interesting fro boys. I suggest we crochet together this funny tractor brooch. It can be worn with pleasure by both boys and girls. This pattern is from the “Machines” series (you can find the patterns of a helicopter, car and steam boat brooch in my store).

My pattern is in a .pdf format, containing 8 pages and 25 step-by-step photos. The pattern is in English and is intended for those who already have some skills in toy crochet.

(Due to the presence of small parts, this toy is not suitable for the children under 10)

To crochet tractor you would need:

1. Basic crochet skills: magic ring, single crochet, decrease, increase, chain stitch

2. Materials:

• Any fingering yarn, all of the same weight. Mine yarns are 100% mercerized cotton Uspeshnaya by Pekhorka ( 220 m / 50 rg – 240 yds / 1.76 oz)- 3-ply yarn. The basic color is red-brown, the windscreen is white, the pipe is brown and gray and black to make the wheels.

• Matching hook. Mine is 1.25 mm (metric)

• Filler

• Eyes. Mine are 3 mm insertable eyes

• Black embroidery floss to design the snout.

• Brooch pin, mine is 2 cm

• Scissors, fine needle

• Pins

• Stitch marker (I have a contrasting thread)

If you use the materials mentioned above, the size of the toy is around 5.5×5 cm (~1.9 – 2.1 inches)
