Isabella the Dragon brooch crochet pattern, PDF in English

Ready to train your dragon? Please meet Isabella. This tender and beautiful brooch will brighten up any outfit . You would become a true Mother of the Dragons and even make Daenerys envious ))) The body, horns and wings have a wire frame inside, the pattern give a detailed instruction on how to do it.

To crochet dragon you would need:

1. Basic crochet skills: magic ring, single crochet, decrease, increase, double crochet, half double crochet

2. Materials:

• Lace yarn– all of the same thickness, mine is 100% mercerized cotton:

Basic yarn in white, Dandy by Kamteks 330m/50gr ( 360yds/1.76 oz);

Vita Pelican in pink 330m/50gr ( 360yds/1.76 oz)

• Corresponding hook. Mine is 0.7 mm (US size 12)

• Filler

• Balck DMC cotton thread to embroider the snout, brown – for the horns, beige to embellish the back with French knots.

• Wire. I have a florist wire (0.9 mm) for the body as it is firm enough and keeps the shape well, and some cable wire for the wings and horns, it is very flexible, easy to fold/unfold (~0.5-0.6 mm).

• Sticking plaster to secure the wire ends

• Slip-joint pliers to work with wire

• CA glue

• Scissors, fine needle

• Brooch pin, mine is 1.5 cm (0.59 inch)

• Optionally: pins, marker
