Tikhon the bull calf toy crochet pattern, PDF in English

A versatile bull toy, which can be made with any yarn, even plush yarn. The size will depend on the yarn of choice. The bull calf can easily change his character: holding a book – a book worm, physicist, scenario – a director, a diplomatist, a young scholar, wearing a beret with a scarf – an artist. He can do without glasses a well.

(Due to the presence of small parts, this toy is not suitable for the children under 10)

The written pattern in .pdf format consists of 11 pages and includes around 40 photos, 3 video links where I show how I make the tail, glasses and do the hair.

To crochet bull you would need:

1. Basic crochet skills: magic ring, single crochet, decrease, increase

2. Materials:

• Yarns, all of the same thickness. Mine are

Pelican by Vita and Dandy by Kamteks measuring 330m/ 50 gr (360 yds / 1.76 oz) (Lace yarn): brown as the basic color, peach for clothes, pink to make the nose, yellow to make the horns and black to make the hooves.

• Matching hook. Mine is 0.75 mm (metric)

• Filler

• Eyes. Mine are 3 mm insertable eyes

• Glue for eyes and glasses. I’ve used a CA glue

• Fine white yarn to design the eyes

• Black cotton embroidery floss to design the eyebrows and nostrils, and glasses)

• Wool embroidery floss to make hair and tail

• Wire to make horns and glasses. I’ve got a floristic wire measuring 0.6mm

• Pliers to work with wire and sticking tape

• Pen or something similar to shape the glasses

• Scissors, fine needle

• Pins, stitch marker
