Koala with an eucalyptus branch brooch crochet pattern, PDF in English

Here you’ve got another crochet pattern, which will be appreciated by any animal or cute brooch lover. (Due to the presence of small parts, this toy is not suitable for the children under 10)

To crochet Koala you would need:

1. Basic crochet skills: chain stitch, magic ring, single crochet, decrease, increase, half double crochet

2. Materials:

• Yarn.

– To make the koala you will need yarn in grey and black colors, mine is Uspechnaya by Pekhorka 220m/50 gr (240 yds / 1.76 oz), a 3 ply yarn.

– To make the branch you will need yarn in green and brown colors, Pelican by Vita measuring 330m/ 50 gr (360 yds / 1.76 oz) a Lace yarn;

– a tiny bit of plush yarn for ears, mine is fancy Plush by Vita;

• Matching hook. Mine are 1.3 mm and 0.75 mm (metric);

• Filler;

• Eyes. Mine are 3 mm insertable eyes;

• Glue for eyes, branch and ears. I’ve used a CA glue and an instant glue;

• A cut of wire, measuring around 5 cm (1.96 inches). Mine is a floristic wire 0.9 mm;

• Black and white embroidery floss to design the snout (any other fingering yarn will do as well);

• Any means to add tone to the cheeks and paws. I’ve got oil pastels and a blender brush;

• Brooch pin, mine is 2 cm;

• Pins, stitch marker;

• Scissors, needle

If you use the afore-mentioned materials, you’ll get a 6 cm (2.4 inch) brooch.
