Sleeping dino Diplodocus brooch crochet pattern, PDF in English

Let’s add up together to the collection of the sleeping animals. Sleeping dinosaur Diplodocus.

This crochet tutorial is written in English (US terms), in .pdf format consists of 12 pages and includes around 40 photos.

To crochet dino you would need:

1.Basic crochet skills: magic ring, single crochet, decrease, increase, double crochet, half double crochet, chain stitch, slip stitch

2.Materials:

-Any fingering yarn. All colors are about the same weight. My yarns are 100% mercerized cotton: Pelican by Vita, 330 m/50 gr (365 yds/1.76 oz) in two shades of  turquoise (main and to make the crest)

-Matching hook. Mine is 0.75 mm (metric)

-Filler

-Optional. A cut (~20 cm /~8 inches) of fine wire to make the frame to help the brooch keep its shape. I have a floristic wire 0.7 mm.

-Pliers and round pliers to work with the wire.

-Sticking plaster to wrap the wire around

-Black embroidery floss to design the snout, metallized Mouline floss to embellish the brooch with French knots

-Brooch pin, mine is 2 cm

-Any means to add tone to the cheeks and body. I used black and red dry pastels + blender blush.

-Scissors, fine needle

-Pins

-Stitch marker (I have a contrasting thread)

3.My detailed crochet tutorial. Good mood as an addition.

If you use the materials mentioned above, the size of the brooch will be 6*5 cm( 1.9×2.3 inches)
