Owlet brooch crochet pattern, PDF in English

This wonderful bird is said to have the most unbelievable capacities, that is why many use owl as a mascot. Let this self made brooch bring you luck!

(Due to the presence of small parts, this toy is not suitable for the children under 10)

To crochet owlet you would need:

1. Basic crochet skills: magic ring, single crochet, decrease, increase

2. Materials:

• Yarn– all of the same thickness, mine is 100% mercerized cotton:

Main – Vita Pelican 330/50( 360yds/1.76 oz) in pink and brown for the claws;

Dandy by Kamteks measuring 330m/50gr ( 360yds/1.76 oz) in white for the eyes, crest and tufts;

Vita Daizy 295 m(395 yds) / 50 gr (1.76 oz) in purple to embroider the feathers.

• Corresponding hook. Mine is 0.75 (US size 12)

• Filler

• DMC cotton thread in black to embroider the eyebrows and in orange to embroider the beak

• Any fine wire for legs

• Sticking tape to be used with the wire;

• Eyes. Mine are 3 mm insertable eyes.

• Glue for the eyes and legs

• Scissors and needle

• Brooch pin, mine is 1.5 cm (0.59 inch)

• Optionally: pins, marker

If you use the materials mentioned above, you’ll get a 5 cm (1.96 inch) brooch, measured without legs. You can adjust legs’ length as you wish.
