Piu the mouse brooch crochet pattern, PDF in English

Piu the mouse is a very romantic girl. She’s having her head in the clouds all the time. She’s waiting for Mr.Right who will take her at the world’s end. She has one more dream of seeing the world and travelling. Maybe it is you who will create this mouse, give this brooch as a gift or wear it by yourself and show her round the world.

Due to the presence of small parts, this toy is not suitable for the children under 10.

Here is the list of what you would need –

1. Basic crochet skills: chain stitch, magic ring, single crochet, decrease, increase, double crochet

2. Materials:

• Yarn: all of the same thickness. I use 100% mercerized cotton:

beige for the main color, pink for the body and yellow for the skirt, Vita Cotton 240 m/50 gr

( 262.5 yds/1.76 oz);

Pekhorka Uspeshnaya 220 m/50 gr (250 yds/ 1.7 oz) for fingertips and tiptoes.

• Corresponding  hook. Mine is  1,3 mm (US size 10)

• Filler

• Thin elastic shelled wire for the tail;

• Sticking tape for sharp wire ends;

• Glue, I have a CA glue;

• 1 eye, mine is a 3 mm insertable eye

• Any means to add tone to cheeks and ears. I have a red lipstick and a blender brush

• Scissors, tapestry needle to sew the parts

• Brooch pin

• Optionally: pins, stitch marker

This  crochet tutorial is written in English (US terms) and contains 10 pages and 35 crocheting and assembly  process  photos. This pdf file contains written crochet instructions and links to video tutorials where I show how to make the wire tail and add tone to the brooch. Skill level – intermediate.

If you use the materials mentioned above, you’ll get a 6 cm (2.36 inch) brooch.
