Dragons! You really can’t help falling in love with them. Let’s tame this little cute dragon with the help of a hook and yarn.

(Please note, that if you use beads or any other tiny parts like eyes to design the brooch, it will not be suitable for small children due to choking hazards)

This crochet tutorial is written in English (US terms), in .pdf format consists of 11 pages and includes around 45 photos

To crochet dragon you would need:

1.Basic crochet skills: magic ring, single crochet, decrease, increase, double crochet, chain stitch, slip stitch

2.Materials:

-Basic yarn Uspeshnaya by Pekhorka 220m/50 gr (240 yds / 1.76 oz)(3-ply); any finer yarn to make the crest, wing and ear – Anna20 (lace yarn, 330 m / 50 gr – 360 yds / 1.76 oz) in dark-green. You can use any fine yarns of a different weight, you usually work with.

-Matching hooks – mine are 1.25 mm and 0.75 mm metric

-Filler

-A cut of fine wire (~2 inches) to make the horn. I have a floristic wire 0.7 mm.

-Pliers and round pliers to work with the wire

-Mouline thread – brown to wrap around the horns, white and black to design the snout, yellow – to embroider the stripes on the belly, metallized – to embellish the back and the head with French knots

-1 insertable eye, 3 mm in diameter

-Liquid instant glue

-Any means to add tone to the cheeks and body. I used black and red dry pastels + blender blush

-Brooch pin, mine is 2 cm

-Scissors, fine needle

-Pins

-Stitch marker (I have a contrasting thread)
