Bublik the hamster brooch crochet pattern, PDF in English

This pattern in .pdf format is written in English and contains 15 pages, 70 photos and 2 video links where I show how to make two types of claws – wire claws and claws made of yarn with glue.

 

To crochet Hamster you would need:

1. Basic crochet skills: chain stitch, magic ring, single crochet, decrease, increase

2. Materials:

• Lace yarns, all of the same thickness. Mine are Pelican by Vita in brown, light beige and pink, 330 m/ 50 gr (365 yds/ 1.76 oz), 100 % mercerized cotton.

• Matching hook. Mine is 0.75 mm (metric)

• Filler

• Wire to make claws. Mine is а 0.4 mm copper wire.

• Pliers to work with wire

• Sticking plaster roll to cover the wire

• CA glue for eyes and transparent CA glue to desing the claws* .

• Eyes, 4 mm insertable eyes

• Fine white yarn to design eyes and teeth

• Black and pink mouline embroidery floss. My pink thread is little darker than pink yarn, this helps to emphasize the claws.

• 2 cm brooch pin

• Scissors, fine needle

• Stitch marker (I have a contrasting thread), pins.

3. My detailed crochet tutorial. Good mood as an addition.

 

If you use the materials, mentioned above, you will get a 6 cm (~2 inch) brooch.
