Dachshund dog knitting pattern ENG PDF Pattern

This knitting pattern is worked in the round, legs and tail are knitted in, ears are sewn on.

Size: about 3cm tall and 7cm long excluding the tail.

Yarn: for the pattern photos, I chose a smooth yarn, Alize Angora gold 550m/100g, to make the stitches more visible. I knitted using two strands, as the yarn is fine. I’m sure you can use fluffier yarn and various shades, as there are many beautiful and interesting dachshund color variations. Please note that the ears are knitted with 1 strand using finer needles, so ideally, choose a fine yarn like Alize Angora gold.

Needles: a set of DP needles 2mm (for ears) and 2.5mm. But if the selected yarn is finer or bulkier, then the needles must be selected individually, and also take into account your knitting tension.

Hook: 1.5-2 mm for picking up stitches along the edge of the fabric for knitting in pieces.

Markers, stitch holders: you will need a stitch marker to keep track of the rounds beginning, as well as 5 stitch holders to separate the stitches for the legs and tail.

Contrasting color bulky thread to mark the place for sewing on the eyes.

Black embroidery floss for embroidering the nose and eyes.
