Pattern Description:
In 2020 I had to make my African flower turtle which goes HitherAndThither through his Home-o 🙂 again and after that decided to update the entire pattern and did it that year. Then in 2021 I translated it again into English and tried to do my best to improve it.
Now it is only one file in English which has 41 pages.

About my yarn
In this project I used – Acrylic Yarn «Karolina» 438m/100gr 100% from my local store. – I am not fond of it at all…. Looks like it is good only for rather loose or even lace crocheting.
I would like to recommend you any other yarn, you are free to use any yarn leftovers that you’ve got. I used only leftovers for my second Turtle project which in brown colors.
As to me I like the most – KARTOPU KRISTAL 450m/100gr. It is a plied yarn. The yarn consists of two thin plies each skein.
The written-pattern provides the detailed process on how to work & assemble the polygonal motifs to create the item/toy. There are not only step-by-step photos, charts and schemas for assembling the motifs & parts but also all tips & tricks for achieving the best result. I made these two and I know what I am talking about 😉
My Hook sizes were:
1.25 mm
1.5 mm
2.5 mm
Finished size of the item with the shell on:
length – 24 cm
height – 14 cm
front flippers spread – 27 cm
The turtle was designed, produced and first posted in August of 2013.
The pattern was written in Russian in October of 2013
and translated into English in February of 2014 then edited in 2020 in Russian and this 2nd edition was translated into English in June of 2021.
