The finished toy measures approximately 18 inches (46 cm) when made with
the materials listed above.

Abbreviations (US terms):
MR – magic ring
sc – single crochet
inc – increase (2 sc in one stitch)
dec – decrease (single crochet 2 stitches together)
sl st – slip stitch
ch – chain stitch
hdc – half double crochet
dc – double crochet
tr – treble crochet
FLO – front loop only
BLO – back loop only
x6 – repeat the sequence between * and
the end x times around (e.g. (sc, inc) x6
means repeat “sc, inc” six times in a row)

Materials
– Yarn: black, gray, dark gray
(#2 Fine, 55% cotton / 45% acrylic, 174 yds / 1.76 oz) – 1 skein of each color
– Crochet hook: 2.5 mm
– Needle, stuffing, scissors
– White sewing thread (regular thin thread for hand sewing)
– 10 black flat-back half-round beads (3 mm) – for eyes;
one side is flat for easy gluing
– Hot glue – for attaching large parts such as the blade,
and fabric-friendly craft glue – for small pieces like the
eyes, where hot glue may be too bulky
– Plastic canvas (6 count – 6 holes per inch), approx.
size 16″ x 1,5″.Any color is fine (I used white)
– Approximately 82 inches of craft wire (e.g. aluminum
or floral wire), to be cut into the following pieces:
two pieces of 16,5″, one of 12″, one of 17″, and two
pieces of 10″. You will also need a pair of pliers to bend them.
