This Handmade Policy (“Policy”) forms part of the Terms of Use of DailyDoll Shop (“Marketplace”, “Platform”).
By listing handmade items on DailyDoll Shop, Sellers agree to comply with this Policy, the Terms of Use, the Intellectual Property Policy, the Prohibited Items Policy, and all applicable laws and regulations.
DailyDoll Shop is a global marketplace dedicated to creators, designers, makers, and artisans. To preserve integrity, authenticity, and trust across the Marketplace, all Sellers must ensure that items listed as handmade meet the criteria described below.
1. Definition of Handmade Items
DailyDoll Shop recognises two categories of handmade Sellers:
1.1. Makers (Producers)
A Maker is a Seller who physically creates their products themselves, whether entirely by hand or with the use of tools, equipment, or small-scale machinery.
A Maker may:
- develop their own designs,
- use patterns or templates (original or third-party licensed),
- employ assistants working under their direct supervision.
1.2. Designers & Freelancers
A Designer is a Seller who conceptualises and designs an original product but may rely on a third-party workshop or production partner to physically manufacture the item.
Routine customisation (e.g., choosing colours, shapes, or configurations of existing products) does not qualify as original design.
Designers must:
- create the original concept,
- retain creative control,
- disclose all Production Partners involved.
2. Core Requirements for Handmade Listings
To sell handmade items on DailyDoll Shop, Sellers must comply with the following:
2.1. Authenticity of Creation
Items described or tagged as “handmade” must be:
- created by the Seller (Maker), or
- designed by the Seller and produced by a fully disclosed Production Partner.
Resale of manufactured goods, mass-produced items, or items created by others without your involvement is strictly prohibited.
2.2. Mandatory Disclosure of Production Partners
If any part of production is outsourced, Sellers must clearly disclose:
- the name of the Production Partner(s);
- the location (city / country) of each partner;
- the nature of the collaboration;
- which parts of the process are performed by the Seller and by the partner.
Failure to disclose a Production Partner constitutes misrepresentation and may result in account suspension or removal.
2.3. Transparency and Accuracy
All handmade Sellers must:
- provide truthful information about how items are made;
- respond promptly to Platform inquiries regarding production processes;
- maintain consistency between listing descriptions and actual practices;
- use original product photos taken by the Seller (no stock images, AI-generated images, or manufacturer photos unless allowed by law and fully disclosed).
DailyDoll Shop reserves the right to request additional information such as:
- work-in-progress photos,
- descriptions of tools, materials, or techniques,
- identity verification,
- proof of design ownership or licensing.
3. Use of Assistants or Team Members
Sellers may involve assistants or employees in their business. This is allowed as long as:
- the Seller remains the primary creator/designer;
- the Seller maintains creative control;
- all team members are disclosed in the About Your Shop section, where appropriate.
Assistants may help with tasks such as:
- packaging,
- communication,
- administrative work,
- parts of the production process under supervision.
4. Requirements for Designers Working With Production Partners
If you are a Designer working with a Production Partner:
- You must design the product yourself.
- Your partner may assist only with physical production.
- You must approve prototypes, materials, and all final designs.
- You may not upload items purchased pre-made from external vendors and present them as your own design.
Not allowed:
- reselling factory-produced goods;
- dropshipping;
- misrepresentation of mass-produced items as handmade;
- concealing third-party involvement;
- copying the work of other creators.
5. Ethical and Legal Compliance
DailyDoll Shop requires all handmade Sellers to comply with:
- international intellectual property laws;
- consumer protection laws;
- product safety standards;
- labour and ethical sourcing standards.
The Platform may refuse or suspend partnerships with Sellers or Production Partners who violate legal requirements or ethical standards.
6. Transparency Requirements
Sellers must maintain transparency by:
✓ Disclosing who creates or designs the product
✓ Using accurate, non-misleading descriptions
✓ Using original photographs of the actual item
✓ Maintaining updated shop information
✓ Responding promptly to verification requests from the Marketplace
Providing false, misleading, or incomplete information is prohibited and may result in:
- listing removal,
- temporary account suspension,
- permanent account termination.
7. Prohibited Practices
The following are strictly prohibited on DailyDoll Shop:
❌ resale of mass-produced, dropshipped, or wholesale goods;
❌ duplicating or imitating branded products;
